Your Alabama Gulf Coast Summer Itinerary

Grab a Cold Brew and Take a Stroll on the Beach

Start your day your way! If that means a mimosa before noon, who are we to judge? You are on vacation after all. And if you’re in the mood for a frappuccino or iced latte instead, High Tide Daiquiris and Mimosas has you covered there, too! Once you’ve got a tasty beverage in hand, take a morning stroll on the beach. We suggest starting at the Beach Pavilion. You’ll find plenty of parking and well-kept bathroom facilities, and it’s a great place to enjoy the views before heading out for the day!

Enjoy Breakfast and a Little Exploration

Next up? The Ruby Slipper, a local favorite known for creative twists on classic brunch fare. Try the white chocolate bread pudding pancakes or the shrimp benedict, and be sure to order the pig candy bites and seasonal beignets for the table (you can thank us later). With the sun shining and summer breezes blowing, it’s a good time to get outside, so why not head to Gulf State Park? Whether walking or biking along the paved trails, it’s one of our favorite places to soak in the scenery and spot local wildlife.

Hit the Beach and Enjoy a Healthy Treat

By now, your whole crew will be ready for some beach time, and you’ll have several public beach access points to choose from. Spend a few hours soaking up the sun and surf, then refuel at Planet Smoothie. Their acai bowls and smoothies are a nourishing and refreshing treat after a day at the beach.

Browse the Shops and Catch a Local Event

Want to pick up something special for friends and family back home? Swing by The Wharf! You’ll find plenty of shops with specialty items to remind you of your time here. While there, swing by Southern Grind Coffee House for a mid-day pick-me-up!

And, if your trip happens to align, you could also add one of the area’s local events to your summer itinerary:

Burn Off Some Energy

We’ve got a few options if everyone’s on board for even more adventure come late afternoon!

If you’re still interested in spending time outdoors, we’d suggest Adventure Island. With go karts, mini golf, and more, you can easily keep the fun going! If you’ve had your fill of sun for the day, head to The Factory instead. With indoor trampolines, rock climbing walls, and batting cages, we can’t think of a better place to let the kids burn off that last little bit of energy.

End the Day with Dinner and Dessert

Wrap up your day with a delicious meal and a sweet treat to match! For dinner, snag a beachfront table at Cobalt, where fresh seafood, incredible views, and a recap of your adventures make for the perfect end-of-day experience (they also offer a fantastic Sunday brunch!) After dinner, treat the kids to a home-made treat at Del’s Ice Cream. Nothing beats the smiles on their faces as you head back to your vacation home, full, happy, and ready to unwind before another sun-soaked day on the Alabama Gulf Coast!

With this summer itinerary, we think you’ll get to enjoy a little bit of everything that makes this place so special. If you’re looking for more things to do in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, check out our vacation blog for even more ideas to make your stay extra special!
