Giving Back in 2023: Kaiser Vacation Rentals Community Updates

February 12, 2023

As we stride into a new year filled with promise and gratitude, we take great pride in reflecting on our commitment to the Alabama Gulf Coast this past year. Our pledge to give back remained at the heart of our mission, striving to make a meaningful and positive impact on our neighbors and all who pass through the coastal communities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Throughout the year, we passionately dedicated ourselves, supported diverse initiatives, and partnered with impactful charities that resonate deeply with our core values.

From working hand in hand with local community members to supporting community outreach projects, here are a few of the incredible experiences we were fortunate enough to be involved in this past year.

Chamber First Friday Forum

January signaled the start of the inaugural First Friday Forum hosted by the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber, an eagerly anticipated event series in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Specifically tailored for Coastal Alabama Business Chamber members, attendees are treated to a morning of networking complemented by breakfast, engaging talks from guest speakers, community organization spotlights, and updates from the Chamber. The platform provides an environment to socialize and cultivate business relationships against the stunning backdrop of the Alabama Gulf Coast.

A record 230 community members met at The Lodge at Gulf State Park for an event packed with a full agenda. Sponsors Glen Kaiser of Kaiser Vacation Rentals and Leonard Kaiser of Kaiser Sotheby’s International Realty presented the South Baldwin Literacy Council, serving the community through free educational programs. Founded in 1983, the volunteer-based non-profit offers a heavy schedule of events, including youth educational programs, adult education classes, ESL classes, and a GED program. With a Board of Directors, a handful of staff members, and a network of committed volunteers, the Council provides services to hundreds of students.

United Way Day of Caring

In May, we closed our office for the day and helped stuff tote bags to support United Way’s HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) program through Goodwill. A home-based early childhood education initiative, HIPPY aims to empower parents through early learning programs via in-home visits. The organization operates independently, often supported by other programs and foundations with similar goals of enhancing early childhood education and family engagement, including the United Way.

“We’ve supported the cause for many years through the United Way volunteer opportunities. We close our office all day to give back to the community. This year, we chose the HIPPY cause. In the past, we have painted the YMCA, completed landscape work for a local elementary school, and so much more. Our team looks forward to this community service project every year,” says Tabitha Williams, Director of Business Development & Property Management at Kaiser Vacation Rentals.

It was a day rich with purpose, contributing to empowering parents through early childhood education and echoing the values we hold dear.

American Heart Association Heart Walk

As the oldest and biggest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting against heart disease and stroke, the American Heart Association focuses on research and education to help families and communities thrive. Through various events, the organization promotes heart-healthy habits and educates the public about the importance of cardiovascular health. They also raise awareness, foster a sense of community engagement, and support individuals and families affected by heart-related issues.

CycleNation is an event that encourages participants to support the cause by raising funds through cycling. Wear Red Day is an awareness day designed to bring attention to the cause, while the Kids Heart Challenge promotes physical activity in elementary and middle-school-aged children. Heart walks bring participants together to walk and show their support for heart health, honor survivors, and raise funds to support education and research to reduce heart disease and stroke.

This past November, teams from Kaiser Vacation Rentals participated in the 2023 Balwin Heart Walk, raising $1,415 for the cause and helping the local community reach its goal.

“We’ve supported this organization as far back as I can remember,” says Williams. “The organization relies on the community’s donations to support the cause. In return, we participate in a high-energy, family-friendly event to raise awareness about heart disease prevention. We love the team-bonding experience, too!”
