Gather together in a relaxed environment at Fishers Dockside and take in breathtaking views of the marina. Share delicious finger foods like smoked tuna dip and fried oysters served alongside beer, wine, craft cocktails, or your favorite bubbly. You can also find heartier fare, including burgers, seafood, and sandwiches, to enjoy while catching up with friends and family this holiday season. Fisher’s Upstairs offers an elegant atmosphere featuring Gulf Coast seafood and prime steaks complemented by craft cocktails and a curated wine list.

Cobalt is another excellent option, open through December 23 and featuring contemporary coastal cuisine. Swing by for happy hour, catch up with friends and family and enjoy a coastal sunset at this beautiful waterfront restaurant. It’s the perfect spot to reconnect and even offers boat slips for those arriving by water. Let the conversation linger, stay for dinner, and take your pick from a mouth-watering selection of culinary delights. Start with the crab bisque or a blackened tuna salad, then choose from seafood, pasta, chicken, or steak for your main course. Finish it off by sharing the fried apple pie or creole cheesecake for dessert!

Dining Out on Christmas Eve

Maybe you’d prefer to eat out on Christmas Eve so you can just hunker down in your PJs all day come Christmas. Trust us; we get it. Peace and relaxation are what the holidays are all about, and you’ll be happy to know you’ll find several great dining options the night before Christmas.

Pick from several eateries, including Ginny Lane, Villagio Grille, and Mile Marker 158 Dockside, all open on Christmas Eve. No matter the size of your group, The Hangout in Gulf Shores can accommodate your crew. It’s a fun place on the beach to take in the views while sampling delicious Southern cuisine. You’ll find everything from fried pickles and gumbo to fresh seafood platters and tasty po’ boys. Wash it all down with signature cocktails, mules, and mojitos, but get there early, as they’ll close at 4 pm on Christmas Eve.

Louisiana Lagniappe offers casual waterfront dining showcasing Gulf seafood with a creole flair. Choose from several notable chef’s selections, including Grouper Pontchartrain and Tournedos of Beef, or try one of the Lagniappe favorites. Whether you opt for the Jambalaya or the Grouper Almondine, you’re bound to find a delicious dish that piques your interest. Known for food, fun, and music, Lulu’s has something for everyone. Let the kids explore the ropes course out on the sand while you listen to live music, enjoy a cocktail, and take in the coastal breezes. Order a Bushwhacker, daiquiri, or margarita and sample the crab dip while the kids work up an appetite outside. From quesadillas, nachos, and salads to po’boys, burgers, and sweet treats, you’ll find more than just seafood on their diverse menu filled with delightful light bites and hearty entrees.

Traditional Meals on Christmas Day

Prefer a festive dinner on Christmas day? You’ve got a few options featuring a traditional holiday meal and loads of family fun. Bring a covered dish to share and make a few new friends at the  Flora-Bama Christmas Potluck. They’ll provide enough turkey and ham for all who arrive and only ask that you bring a covered dish to share. Whether it’s grandma’s deviled eggs or that cherished cornbread stuffing that’s been passed down for generations, all dishes are welcome at this festive celebration that’s been going on for years. Arrive at noon, mingle, and enjoy this festive feast at 1 pm.

The Foodcraft Christmas Day Buffet features a hot and cold buffet with an array of traditional holiday desserts rounding out the menu. Start with the oyster chowder and winter salad, then work your way through the green bean casserole and candied yams. Entrees include prime rib, turkey sliders, and roasted snapper, then finish it off with gingerbread bundt cake, champagne trifle, and chocolate Christmas pudding. The kids can enjoy their holiday cupcakes and Christmas cookies while playing in the sand just steps away!

Of course, you’ll find everything needed to prepare a delicious holiday meal or tasty brunch in one of our fully-appointed vacation homes and condos. If you don’t feel like leaving your cozy vacation rental, you’ll find plenty of other holiday dining options nearby. Door Dash or Uber Eats are great resources that will merrily bring the food to you so you can spend more time with the ones you love this Christmas!
